NSW Imagery Theme Rapid Response – Floods Mar 2022

Rapid response imagery is captured and produced to identify visible features and terrain in order to support emergency management decision making during and after adverse natural events. In this case the imagery covers areas affected by recent flooding.

Additionally, the rapid response imagery product is used on a whole of government basis as a visible record of the landscape at a given point in time, allowing for comparative analysis to be carried out over multiple capture dates. The imagery was created by ortho-rectifying and mosaicing data from flight lines over the project area captured by Spatial Services using a Leica-Geosystems ADS80 airborne digital sensor. An ECW product is created as a Standard Colour (RGB) orthorectifed mosaic file and a JP2 file is created as a False Colour (NRG) orthorectified file. The file size depends on the individual project area, compression ratio and the number of bands that exist in the image.

As a rapid response product, this dataset meets the standards and accuracy specifications outlined in August 2021 for this product type. (see below link)
